Candidates may campaign from Monday, March 14th at 8:30 am to Friday, March 25th at 4:30 pm. Mr. Charlesworth and Mr. Yi have both submitted articles to mathNEWS explaining why they wish to be MEF Director, which you can read here. Voting take place using the BC-STV system. This means that voters will, instead of selecting a single candidate, rank their candidates in order of preference (first choice 1, second choice 2, etc). The first-choice votes will be counted first, and if any candidate has 50%+1 of the vote, they win automatically. Otherwise, the last-place candidate is dropped and their votes get transferred to the next preference on their ballot. This is repeated until a candidate gets 50%+1, at which point he or she is declared the winner.
